We were very impressed by this lovely apartment, which is finished and decorated to a high standard. It clearly hasn’t been done on the cheap: the sofas are from Sofology, the dishwasher is Neff, and there’s a custom-fitted kitchen, engineered wood floor, solid wood doors, and more. The apartment was very clean, though a few lamp bulbs were out. There was still plenty of light around the property. We stayed at 5 Fernhill from 24/6 to 5/7/24, booking through Cornwall Hideaways. We’ve booked with Cornwall Hideaways three times and never had an issue. They’ve been very accommodating with requests during our stays, and helpful when we once left our key inside the apartment. The balcony-type area had a cracking view of Carbis Bay beach, and we all agreed we’d miss it after leaving. There was enough space for three adults and two toddlers aged two and three. The bathroom was very clean and seemed newly fitted, although the small shower head was broken and leaking. Parking right outside the front door was great, though the bays are tight, so you might feel a bit on tenterhooks if you have a nice car. The apartment is quite close to the beach, but there are steep hills to navigate. Having a car can solve that. If you’re after somewhere clean and accommodating, this is definitely the place.

The views are to die for, and the apartment is lovely. Just be aware it’s on the top floor, so getting luggage up the stairs is a struggle. We had a dog, which meant going back down each time she needed the loo. Parking wasn’t great either, and the spaces aren’t suitable for large vehicles.

There’s room here for a proper get-together, with an enclosed garden, space to entertain and an eight-seater hot tub. Inside, the glass-fronted balcony stretches the living area out towards the view, and the three bedrooms sleep seven plus two infants. Fernhill Lodge is tucked down a private road in Carbis Bay; its reverse-level, open-plan layout makes the most of the outlook. A lovely place to relax or have a party, with private parking and EV charging too.

We’ve already booked to return next year. The owners were easy to communicate with, and the apartment had everything we needed. The welcome basket was a lovely touch, and the sea views are beautiful.

Two brilliant weeks at fernhill, with hot, sunny weather and gorgeous views from the apartment. We barely needed the car. We’ve booked again for 2025.
