It took me three visits to find Alfred Wallis's grave, but it was worth looking him up on Google. His story is sad and deserves to be told. A friend built his grave. He was an untrained artist who painted what he saw, and his art was amazing. His former home is in the town.

The cemetery is beautiful, though the grave was a little hard to find. A guide appeared out of nowhere and pointed us the right way. The gravesite overlooks Porthmeor beach and was made by the St Ives artists' collective of the time, with Leach pottery tiles laid in honour of the late artists.

This is my favourite cemetery. I've never seen headstones so beautiful, set above the sea. There's so much history here, so take your time walking through.
