I really enjoyed my few days here. You’re just a five minute walk from the beach and ten minutes from the harbour, and I was lucky enough to get parking, though other guests had to use the side roads. The communal kitchen took me back to uni, and it was well equipped, even with an electric whisk. The only downside was how loudly doors closing elsewhere carried into my bedroom, like the kitchen door. I suppose the doors are heavy for a reason, but I hadn’t expected them to be that noisy. It was a really positive stay. Once I got home, I was already checking availability for next summer!

Getting back up from the resort is a long, steep walk, though St Ives is hilly everywhere. We got a taxi one evening for £4, so that was no bother. The apartment itself was lovely to stay in, very clean and well equipped.

The location worked well enough for getting down to town and the beach, but the return is very steep and could be difficult depending on your mobility. Room 9 was hard to find and much too small. The bed was fine, but there was nowhere to get changed or put anything away, and our cases took up the only floor space. I thought it might be manageable just for sleeping, but I wouldn't recommend this room.

The hill back from St Ives town or the beach is a real slog, so it may be a problem if walking is difficult. Apart from that, the room was fabulous. The bed was really comfy, the linen was good quality, and the shower was great. There was hand wash, shower gel and shampoo, plus a big wall-mounted TV, kettle and little hairdryer. The shared kitchen had everything we needed, even an iron and ironing board. I'd recommend it, just be ready for that huuuuge walk back up.

The place was nicely decorated and clean, and I really liked having a kitchen with all the equipment, including a blender for fruit juice. It was handy to cook and eat in. Still, it doesn't feel as luxurious as it looks. The walls and doors seem very thin and low-budget, so you hear people shutting doors, flushing toilets and opening doors with that squeaking sound. The narrow corridor and walls also shake and make noise when people walk past. It felt a bit like student accommodation.
