The Western

The central location made New Year’s Eve so easy. Shops, the harbour and restaurants were only a five-minute walk away, and we couldn’t have picked a better place for the celebration. I was worried The Western might not feel “bougie” enough for me, but it turned out to be perfect for what we needed. We stayed four nights, and the whole visit was relaxed and comfortable. Staff were friendly and accommodating, especially at breakfast. I have terrible OCD, and the room was clean, simple, warm and comfortable. A few things need fixing, but with a partner and son like mine, something would always end up broken anyway. Everything was replenished daily, the towels were fresh and clean each day, and the shower was warm and powerful. We were in room one and I’d ask for it again because it’s closest to the ground floor. Breakfast was perfect, with plenty of fresh options cooked to order and served on time. The little pub next door was cosy and friendly, and my son loved spending hours playing darts there. Before the trip, communication was brilliant. I ask lots of questions and they always replied quickly and helpfully. We’d been told about the new parking setup in advance. We unloaded first, then found a space quite easily because we’d arrived very early. I always have lots of questions, and they were quick to respond and helpful. We felt well looked after and would happily stay at The Western again. We’d definitely recommend it.
