The Old Bank Apartments

The stay was let down by poor cleaning and unprofessional handling, and what could’ve been a very nice day became a disappointment. I contacted them at check-in and sent several Facebook messages afterward, but got no reply or even an apology. It left me thinking they don’t care about repeat custom or the facilities, and haven’t stayed there themselves to check them. We’d booked the ground-floor accessible suite for Christmas Eve for two nights, an important booking. I had to chase it because payment hadn’t been taken and no confirmation had arrived. At the rear entrance, the bin area was filthy and renovation debris was stored there. The lighting was abysmal, parking was poorly signed, if signed at all, and there were numerous trip hazards. Getting my sister in her wheelchair through there was a challenge. Then we were given only part of the key code, with one digit missing. The room felt stark, cold and unwelcoming. The website pictures showed something quite different, modern, bright and well lit. In the bedroom, I had to replace all the bedding because it was filthy, mismatched and the wrong size for the beds pushed together. It also had stains I can only describe as blood marks. The shower facilities were okay, but not particularly clean, and there was a huge crack in the toilet seat that made it impossible to sit on without nipping your bottom.
