The breakfast room was kept stocked with a great range of things, including fresh eggs, and our hosts were so lovely. We stayed in a glamping pod at Penhallow house, where they’d provided everything we needed and more. It’s a gorgeous place, full of scenery and beautiful wildlife. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful weekend and will most certainly visit again. Everything was perfect.

Those two hosts were great, we adored them. The house and the area are beautiful, and the toilet and shower area was lovely. Around the campsite, a few small changes would help: the paths to the Bell tents, especially past the caravan area, need care, and lights could guide you through the field. Cheap solar lights every few feet might do it. It’s a shame the tents didn’t face out towards the beautiful corn friends and sunset views instead of the bushes. Still, wow, I’d live here 😍🩷👌🏼✨️

Ian was friendly and helpful throughout, and made us feel welcome from the start. The location was peaceful, a lovely place to unwind. We felt close to nature while still having the comforts we wanted, and breakfast each morning had a special, homely feel. It’s a short taxi ride or drive to the nearest beach. Getting around without a car can be tricky, though, as there’s no footpath to the nearby town and we had to rely on taxis. It wasn’t a deal-breaker, but it’s worth keeping in mind. We had a unique, memorable glamping trip at Penhallow and would recommend it to anyone wanting to relax in nature without giving up comfort. A big thanks to Ian for making it special ☺️

The tents are spacious, with electric blankets and enough outlets to charge phones, run a hair dryer and plug in a watch charger at the same time. Fire pits and BBQs are available around the clock, so we could spend a cool summer evening by the fire cooking jacket potatoes and sausages. You can buy more wood when the fire gets low, though supplies may be limited when it’s busy. The shower facilities were better than at most campsites, and there was no extra charge. There’s also a communal fridge in the little shop, pantry and breakfast area for keeping BBQ meat ready for dinner. We went at the height of summer and had perfect weather. The place was easy enough to find by following the directions they sent. Breakfast choices are limited, and there weren’t gluten-free options ready, but the owners were incredible, chatty and friendly. They made fresh muffins each day, and when they learned I was gluten-free, they even made some gluten-free ones for me.

This was my second stay at Penhallow glamping retreat, and it was beautiful, peaceful and quiet again. Check-in and check-out are self-service, but the hosts are around when you need them. Breakfast in the barn is included, with everything for a cold breakfast available 24 hours a day. There’s a small honesty shop too, with essentials and local ice cream. I stayed in a pod with a spacious, comfortable bed and an electric blanket for cold nights, which I didn’t need this time. The toilet was clean, the shower was very good and the facilities were cleaned regularly. I’ll be back again!
