Dream Lodge

The location wasn't bad, with a corner shop, some fast food places and Five bells pub nearby. I expected to be closer to the airport and to have an easier trip there, though. It's a room in a large mansion, and I couldn't work out what was going on, but it got loud at night. The small double memory foam bed was okay, and the cramped ensuite worked for one person. Cheap, so you get the kind of room you'd expect for the price.

Caroline and the other staff were really friendly and helpful when I arrived. The hotel was very clean, and it was excellent value for money.

Someone used my stolen card details to book at Dream Lodge under a false name, so I called the owner to explain and try to sort out the fraudulent reservation. I only wanted some basic cooperation, perhaps help checking or cancelling it. Instead, the owner cut me off, said, “yeah we know that, just cancel it,” and hung up. I was met with rudeness and indifference while trying to stop a booking made with a stolen card. It was a deeply disappointing experience. I won't stay at this property, and I'd caution others about the customer service at Dream Lodge. That attitude is unacceptable when someone is dealing with fraud.

We were turned away for the night by their rude security guard and had to sleep in our car, even though we'd spoken to the manager during the week and said we wouldn't arrive until after midnight because I was working at an event nearby. We've heard nothing from them and lost our £80 booking fee. This is disgusting. Please don't use Dream Lodge. If the manager doesn't contact us within 24 hours, we'll post this all over Facebook and social media, contact a national and local newspaper, and get in touch with the BBC to expose this bad practice.
