Staines Angel Apartments

The central spot made it easy to reach shops, restaurants, groceries, and the train station, with London about a 45-minute ride away. We were a family of five and had loads of space in this large, airy apartment, three bedrooms with a king, queen, and double bed, a big fridge, nice kitchen, and a good range of TV programmes for the kids. The large bath, bathtub, and plentiful hot water were welcome, as was the washing machine. Keyless entry was simple. Parking is available for up to £12 a day. If you rent the apartment, park at Staines Two Rivers shopping centre and walk down Tilly Rd to the high street. There are a few things to know. Being right over a pub and in the middle of the high street means people around all day and night, and it can feel odd walking through the mall with luggage. Friday and Saturday nights were especially noisy, with music until 1:30 am and people smoking and talking loudly outside. It was louder in the king room and quietest in the full room, though still noisy. We managed with a white noise app. Weekdays were quieter, and the pub closed around 11, but it wasn’t silent. A random reveller buzzed our intercom at 1 am, which was annoying. Smoke from people outside came into the apartment at night. The furniture wasn’t sturdy, and the living room couch was broken, one arm detached and the other caved in, which at least kept the remote from getting lost. There’s no dryer, so laundry has to go on the heated rack in the bathroom. Huge piles of laundry were stored by the interior door and took up most of the narrow foyer. They grew during our seven-day stay. The apartment wasn’t especially clean when we arrived either: there was standing water in the tub that didn’t look clean, and dirty dishes in the sink. These things should be addressed, but they weren’t deal breakers. It was still a great stay for what it is, and I’d stay again.
