The Grainary Cottages

We had a very peaceful, quiet night, and the views and location are stunning. The rooms are special and well appointed, with the best blackout curtains ever. Meals were freshly cooked and really tasty, and the staff made us feel so welcome. A great one night stay and excellent value for money.

The setting is even lovelier than the pictures suggest, and the nearby animals made this such a peaceful, relaxing break. It’s also well placed, about a 15 minute drive either way to Scarborough and Whitby. Everything was spotless, from our room to the shared areas, and the decor was tasteful and pristine. The staff were genuinely friendly and happy to help with anything. Breakfast and dinner were both fabulous. Thanks to the chef and everyone for a wonderful birthday break. We’ll certainly be back.

We haven’t stayed here, but dinner tonight was excellent. We were warmly welcomed and the service was prompt. The food was amazing and beautifully presented, in an idyllic countryside location. It’s worth the few miles out of town, and the prices are reasonable too. 110% recommended 😊

The farmhouse breakfast was exceptional, with fresh local ingredients, and the staff were warm and couldn’t do enough for us. We had a wonderful stay at The Grainary, where the peaceful rolling hills of Harwood Dale feel far from the bustle, while Scarborough and Whitby are only a short drive away. It’s a lovely mix of rustic charm and modern comfort. Clean and cozy, it captures the best of the Yorkshire countryside. Whether you stay overnight or just pop into the tea room for a scone, it’s worth a visit.
