Thirley Cotes Cottage

This was our second visit, and we booked Pear Tree Cottage again. The welcome pack was lovely, with bread, milk, wine, local marmalade, and biscuits. They also kindly swapped the Dolce Gusto coffee machine for a Nespresso machine. The bed is really comfortable, the cottage is well equipped, and there’s a smart TV where you can use your own Prime or Netflix logins.

We had a brilliant week in Willow Cottage in early September with our Border Collie. The hot tub was lovely, and it’s a great base for visiting Whitby and Scarborough. Best cottage we’ve ever stayed in. We’ll be back.

We stayed in Peartree, while other family members had Walnut and Willow. All three cottages were lovely and clean, and the surroundings were picturesque. The whole place is beautifully maintained, and the staff we met were polite and helpful. Having use of the hot tubs at Peartree and Willow was such a nice extra. It’s a lovely, peaceful place, and we’d definitely recommend staying here when visiting North Yorkshire.

The hosts were excellent, and I had a great night’s sleep in a silence I’ve never experienced before. Highly recommend if you’re after a very secluded night away.
