Birk House Bed & Breakfast

We felt at ease here, and it never seemed like we were being watched the way you sometimes can at a B&B. The surroundings are beautiful and the setting is just right. Our room was warm and lovely, with plenty of storage, and the bathroom felt very luxurious. Boo loved her stay too. Breakfast was really nice in a great room with a wood burning stove. We'll be back.

The garden and fields looked lovely from our room, and the place felt like a home away from home. We had a relaxing, peaceful stay, though just for one night, and I wished we could have stayed longer. Chrissy was attentive and happy to accommodate my dairy intolerance. She also caters for gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian diets. Breakfast was amazing. I'd definitely recommend Birk house bed & breakfast if you want clean, fresh air away from city traffic fumes. We needed somewhere for one more night after a last minute decision to extend our holiday, and Birk House turned out to be the best place we stayed on the trip. My partner had been unsure about how remote it was, though a family member had recommended it. There's a permissive track into Stamford Bridge for local amenities and the bus to York, and we really appreciated the peace and quiet. The room was nicely decorated and comfortable, with a large en-suite and a great bath and shower. Breakfast and hospitality were faultless. We had a lovely stay and will definitely return.

York centre is only a 15 minute drive, and there's a great pub for food about five minutes away by car. The rural setting is quiet and peaceful. We got a very friendly welcome and a lovely bedroom with plenty of tea and coffee. The firm mattress suited my back perfectly.
