The Bull And Swan

We stayed at The Bull & Swan for a couple of days and had a very good visit. Our room was Lyon, spacious and comfortable, with water and fresh milk in the fridge and lovely toiletries. Everyone on staff was great, and breakfast was excellent. The car park is at the William Cecil, about a five-minute walk away. There was some road noise outside, but it didn't bother us. A handy base for Stamford, and I'm sure we'll come back.

We'd eaten at the pub a handful of times before, but this was our first stay. The room's finish and quality really impressed us, with lots of space, a comfortable bed, lovely linen and towels. The toiletries were good quality, and the homemade cookies waiting on arrival were much appreciated. We slept very comfortably and had a delicious breakfast with lots of variety. Highly recommend!

The pub decor was fantastic, cosy, clean and fresh, and the drinks list had plenty of choice. The staff were polite, welcoming and professional. We came as six colleagues for our works Christmas meal and were first seated in a very nice side room, but we'd rather be in the busy pub, so they moved us without any fuss. Food took a long time because there was a party on and the place was busy. Once it arrived, though, it was superb. Four of us were very happy with the burger and fries, one loved the fish and chips, and the person who had pork loin thoroughly enjoyed it too, though their plate had the least food, so I'd suggest a side with that dish. We'd definitely return.

We stopped in for dinner on Monday and went with the glazed ham hock our waiter recommended. It was stunning, honestly, though we couldn't finish it. The waiter was excellent. The atmosphere was lovely too. Wish we'd stayed here as well, but next time we definitely will.
