The breakfast stood out most, good quality, cooked to order, and the coffee was nice too. Compared with the larger hotels I’ve stayed in, it was far better. I was in the same clean, spacious room as on my last visit, which was my second time at Steventon House Hotel. The bed was comfortable, though the bathroom could use a bit of TLC. It works well for me when I’m travelling for work, and I’d consider staying again.

The room amenities were poor, and room No. 1 is a choice only if you like it chilly. Breakfast had a good hot selection, though the cold choices were poor. The location suited what we needed, and Alex gave us an excellent reception.

The staff were very friendly, and breakfast was nice, served on a hot plate. The hotel was very clean, though it looked nothing like the photos and felt very dated, so it needs a revamp. The restaurant was Indian, which we sadly don’t like, and the curry smell carried throughout the hotel. That part is just personal preference.

I woke up freezing at 4am again. The heating must go off around 10pm, and the duvet was paper thin. The shower head was disgusting, so I left early to buy a towel and shower at work. This was my second stay, a year apart, and I won’t be back for a third.
