The booking fell through after more than two hours of back and forth. At first I was told a system issue had caused incorrect bookings, but after I contacted booking.com, the explanation changed. They couldn’t process my payment and rejected the booking. I tried two cards from different banks and checked with the banks, who said the payments kept being rejected. The property wouldn’t take cash either. I booked with travelodge in two minutes using the same card. Very poor service, and booking.com was no help with this.

There were lots of places to eat and supermarkets nearby. I was on a business trip and this worked perfectly well for an overnight break. The property is being renovated, but it was perfectly serviceable for what I needed. Full kitchen facilities were available, though I didn’t use them.

Mary was cheerful and made us feel welcome. The kitchen was handy, and we could use the fridge too. The bathroom was shared, which was okay for a short stay. The double room was alright, though the third bed wasn’t comfortable. For the price, it was still good.

Mary made me feel at home while I was away. I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels, and the hospitality here really stood out. It was lovely and warm, really clean, and nice and quiet. I sleep well here, which is why I often come back.
