The village pub had a lovely atmosphere, with friendly staff and locals. The Sunday roast was top drawer: a generous serving, a lovely cut of beef, very tasty vegetables, and lashings of gravy. Well worth a visit.

There was a good range of drinks at the well-stocked bar, and the staff were great and attentive. We were five people, and our one complaint was that the greens were a little undercooked. Sitting so close to a full bar made it a bit hard to hear each other, though it was good to see the place so busy. We had an excellent evening meal and highly recommend the food, staff, and atmosphere. Looking forward to going back.

We got there at midday and were greeted by warm, polite, friendly, chatty service. I have a nut allergy, and the staff were very attentive to it. The drinks were delicious and varied, with a good choice for drinkers and non-drinkers alike. The food was WOW. My partner had the satay fish cakes and I had the trout gravlax to start. Both starters were full of flavour, nicely balanced, and just the right size. For mains, we had the steak and Stilton pie and the pork belly. Every element was done perfectly, and the dishes came together so well. Honestly, it's the best food I've had in a while. The atmosphere was great, with fun music that never got overbearing. The staff looked after us just enough without smothering us. We'll definitely DEFINITELY be back. Go if you get the chance!

The Fox Inn is a traditional village free house with plenty of beers, lager, and cider to choose from, including three hand-pulled cask-conditioned real ales. On our visit, the cask ales were in very good condition and cheaper than the pubs in york. The staff are welcoming, and there are no bar games, so it feels more like a food pub. There's covered seating behind the pub and outdoor seating at the front. It's dog friendly, and there's a free car park.

We'd been looking forward to The Fox opening after having excellent meals at their other pubs. We took our 18-month-old granddaughter for Sunday lunch, and the staff were really welcoming and attentive. We all ordered the beef Sunday lunch. It was hot, tasty, and a generous portion, with excellent gravy and the bonus of a ball of stuffing. The pub has been refurbished to a lovely, warm, cosy standard. Thank you. I'd highly recommend it.
