Channel View Guest House

We’ve been coming back for years and still love it here. Lucy is so lovely, and the breakfasts are freshly made, hot and tasty. The rooms have an en suite, tea tray and hairdryer, and you can just ask if you need anything. There’s free parking on site. Stoke Fleming is near Blackpool Sands, though sadly dogs aren’t allowed on that sandy beach. There are lots of coastal walks, and Lucy has an enclosed field you can hire privately for a safe dog run, with amazing views. Around the corner there’s a great pub serving food until about 8, plus a corner shop, church and friendly neighbours. Dartmouth is beautiful and about six miles away, with Sainsbury's and Lidl around a ten minute drive.

We only stayed three nights, but the room was lovely, with a super king bed and a really nice bathroom. Breakfast was out of this world. We had the full breakfast each morning and it set us up for the day. Lucy made a perfect host. Nothing was too much trouble, and she knew all about local shops, pubs and bus times. Such a lovely place to stay, and a lovely weekend. Thanks, Lucy.

Room 4 had a fantastic sea view, and I have to mention the great windows too. It was spotless and spacious, with an en suite, fresh towels and toiletries. There was a mini fridge, tea and coffee making things, and even chocolate biscuits. Lucy served a great breakfast each morning between 8-9am. We had a wonderful two night stay and felt welcome all weekend. The guest house is well placed for walking to two lovely pubs. Blackpool sands is worth visiting, though dogs aren’t allowed at certain times of year. I think other beaches that allow dogs are a short drive away. We hope to come back soon. The location made it easy to get out on the SW Coastal path, to Dartmouth, and to lovely beaches like Blackpool Sands, which is within walking distance. Stoke Fleming village is close by, with great places to eat. There’s plenty of parking, and the coastal bus stops just metres away. Lucy was a fabulous, friendly host who really went the extra mile. Our double en suite room was immaculately presented and well appointed, with glorious views over this scenic stretch of the SW Devon coastline. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and set us up for the day. Guests can use the dining room, conservatory with fridge and microwave, and outdoor seating areas throughout their stay. Lucy has also put together a very helpful guide and app for the B&B and surrounding area. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, highly recommend it, and hope to return soon. Thank you, Lucy!
