We decided to stop in for lunch on the off chance, and were greeted with a warm, friendly welcome as soon as we walked in. We were seated right away, our drinks order was taken, and the menu and specials were explained. They handled our specific requests without any problem, and the food arrived quickly. Mum had soup and I had the festive sandwich. Both were delicious, fresh and so tasty we ate them before I could take a photo. Everyone was attentive and friendly, and nothing seemed too much trouble. The toilets were spotless too, always a bonus. I'm glad we passed by and popped in. I'd definitely return on my next visit, and I'll be dreaming about that sandwich until then.

What a lovely breakfast. It was an English breakfast with a healthier, more considered take on the usual heavy version. The oven-baked mushrooms were soft and full of flavour, the eggs were poached just right and served in an espresso mug, such an unexpected touch. The bread was fresh, crunchy and delicious, and the coffee was excellent. It's family-run, and you can feel the genuine warmth. A perfect place to get out of the cold on a December morning in the Cotswolds.

We only stopped in because it was right opposite our Airbnb, and it turned out to be such a lovely little place. Breakfast and the tea and coffee were delicious, and everyone was so friendly. We skipped the pastries, though the croissants looked amazing. You can see the locals love it here. I'd happily come back regularly if I were staying longer.

We stayed in the apartment and ate at the cafe, and both were excellent. The apartment was warm, spotless, and comfortable, with thoughtful touches everywhere: remotely operated electric skylights, a fully equipped kitchen with plenty of crockery and glasses, lovely White Company linen and towels, a smart TV with a soundbar, and underfloor bathroom heating. The cafe had the best food we tried during our week in the area. It was clearly popular, especially at weekend brunch, and had a lively buzz. The menu was exceptionally good, and the owners and staff stayed friendly, patient, and attentive despite how busy it was. I'd highly recommend The Hive for a meal, a stay, or both.

We went every day we were away because the breakfasts were so good. They also catered for my wife's coeliac needs with proper artisanal bakery-made gluten-free bread. Thoroughly recommended.
