The room was spacious, with a pleasing retro feel, and everything was clean and homely. Breakfast was extensive and first class, and the price was extremely reasonable for one night, let alone the two we ended up staying. We'd turned up a day early for a concert at the Ryan Centre because the date change hadn’t made it onto the D&G Council website. Marilyn and Bill kindly put us up for the extra night at no charge, which saved the day. Their generosity made the visit truly memorable. I can’t recommend the place highly enough, and if I find an excuse, I’ll book again next year.

The rooms were really comfortable, and Marilyn was so helpful. We were made very welcome, and staying here was a real pleasure. Breakfast was out of this world. I’d happily recommend it, and we’ll be back. We stayed on 02/08/2013 with my wife and our two boys.

This was our second family visit, and with five of us, we wouldn’t choose anywhere else now. The bath was so deep I could have relaxed in it all day, and I came home refreshed, relaxed and thoroughly spoiled. It’s an adorable Victorian B&B, full of interesting things to look at. The beds are amazingly comfortable, Marilyn, her son Nicky and her husband made us feel so welcome, and the breakfast was the best ever. The price was great too, and it’s close to everything in stranraer.

Stranraer is a lovely town to visit, and a stay at the quirky Old Manse adds to a getaway. It has a great vibe. The Victorian house is beautiful and full of character, the beds feel like clouds, and the host was warm and welcoming. Highly recommend it.
