Breakfast was excellent, and the room itself was fabulous, but the stay had some real issues. We'd booked a twin and were given a double, and the view from our room, as the attached photo shows, wasn't good. The head waiter seemed completely frazzled and was extremely surly because he couldn't find our dinner booking on his list, even though I'd booked by phone and paid the winter dinner rate. Dinner wasn't particularly good. When my husband asked for Sauvignon Blanc, the waiter offered two alternatives. We saw Sauvignon Blanc on the menu later, so it seemed as though we were being steered towards more profitable choices, which was not a good start. His ragu came as very dry pasta; we asked for more sauce and got perhaps a couple of tablespoons. My meal was OK.

We celebrated my son's 21st birthday with a meal here, and everyone enjoyed the amazing food in the lovely restaurant. The staff were among the best I've seen, welcoming us with smiles and happy to help with anything. Thank you, everyone.

The bill was the worst part of our visit to The Baraset Barn. After a long wait to be served, it came to £190 for drinks, apparently including food we'd never seen at our table. The staff fixed it when we pointed it out, but a £113 “accidental” charge was a pretty awful surprise. Our actual total was £77, thank goodness we checked the maths. It seems funny now, but at the time it was miserable. I'm not in a hurry to go back.

The dining and service teams were so helpful with my allergies and intolerances, and Charlotte at breakfast deserves a special thank you. Nothing seemed like too much trouble, and everyone was warm and helpful. We enjoyed delicious evening meals and a hearty breakfast each day. Our large room was spotless and comfortable, with a super comfortable bed and a lovely view through the French doors over the field and resident sheep. It had the modern comforts you'd expect, including tea and coffee, a fridge, safe, and bathroom toiletries. We took a short Stratford break at Baraset Barns and were glad we chose it. A really relaxing, wonderful stay, and we'll be back.

We’ve made this our go-to place for special occasions and keep coming back. This was our third meal at the baraset barn, and the food and service were just as impressive as ever. Joe and Ethan looked after us this time and did a brilliant job. We also had a perfect Christmas meal with friends, hosted wonderfully by Ximena. Thanks to the whole team.
