Ettington Chase

The spa facilities made this a five star stay for me. There’s a nice little gym with almost everything you’d need for a good workout, if you’re inclined, plus a great hot tub, swimming pool and powerful sauna. There’s no steam room, unfortunately, but the other facilities make up for it. Breakfast and dinner were great. It’s a lovely place for a weekend getaway. The rooms at the far end of the hotel could use a little attention, though they were clean.

The pool felt a bit dreary and dark, and the gym was cramped. The leisure facilities could use an update, though they were clean and functional. We booked the summer deal with an overnight stay, dinner and a drink, plus breakfast, and it was well worth it. The room was clean, spacious and had a nice view of the grounds. Dinner was good and staff were very attentive. Breakfast was great. Buffet breakfasts usually put me off, but the staff were clearly keeping things fresh, and there was plenty to choose from, including cooked food, cereals, fruit and pastries. It was a comfortable stay and I’d recommend the hotel.

The rates were very good compared with Stratford prices, so we got a good deal. There’s a swimming pool, plenty of parking and beautiful grounds. Staff were friendly, and we had a large double room. It was much larger than the last time I stayed here. I’d have preferred a different mattress, though there was a choice of pillows. We enjoyed our two nights and would definitely stay again.

Dinner was amazing, breakfast was good, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and well equipped, but need an update. The TVs, fittings and decor look old, as if the rooms haven’t been decorated for a while. The swimming pool is good and the gym is well equipped. The Groupon deal is well worth getting.
