Penryn Guest House

The room was big, with an extra room and a large shower and toilet room, so there was lots of space. It could use a little TLC, though I'm probably being picky. The place works differently from a regular hotel: you get codes for the front door and your room, and don't need to deal with anyone in person. There's no bar or dining area. Messages were answered quickly and helpfully, and the location's good, around a 15-20 minute walk into the centre of Stratford. Great value.

We never met the owners, but email communication with them was good. On check-in day they sent the codes for the front door and our bedroom. The room was clean and quiet, with an adjoining single bedroom and dining room. The bathroom had a great shower. There was plenty of tea, coffee and milk, as well as a microwave and toaster. A very pleasant stay.

Our ground-floor apartment was clean, quiet and warm, with good parking, pleasant staff and a helpful owner. It was a little tight for my wheelchair. I'd recommend it to people who can walk, but wheelchair access could be better: getting through the front door needs improvement, and the toilet and washbasin were difficult to reach. The owners have clearly put a lot of effort into making short stays possible for as many people as they can.

We'd definitely stay again. It was about a 15-minute walk to the town centre, and communication was good. Our clean, fresh room was spacious, with a second room containing a table and seats. There was a comfortable bed, sink, fridge, microwave, toaster and a large shower. Plenty of tea, coffee and milk, plus biscuits and some cereal boxes.
