Dinner was extraordinary, and we'd definitely come back. We were also given a wonderful free upgrade to the tower room, with a stunning mountain view. The rooms are well equipped, and the hotel has a lovely charm.

A nice experience overall, and apparently the rooms are haunted by a friendly ghost who lives in the water pressure and controls the shower. Sometimes the pressure cuts out, but if you talk to the ghost, it gives you better pressure. Room 320 is dangerously haunted. The number 109 is written on the bathroom window, though I haven't figured out what it does. I've added photos for reference.

Breakfast was good and made to order, and there was plenty of hot water for a proper bath or shower, not just the dribble you get at some places. The hotel was clean, and the staff were friendly and polite. The only small issue was that a little light came through the door, which is understandable given the age of the building. It didn't disturb a good night's sleep.

The food was out of this world for the prices, and Graeme, the food and beverage manager, was top class and a real asset. We got five-star service from start to finish. We were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived with our furry human, and the front-of-house staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms had everything they should, and the bathrooms were perfect. We stayed for a long weekend for a cycling event. I'll be back very soon!

A spectacular old estate with a lovely bar and historic restaurant. The rooms and bathrooms are small and old. There isn't much nearby to walk around, just houses.
