The building and our room were lovely, and breakfast had a great spread. But the way the host treated us was disappointing. My wife and I were passed over while other guests were greeted and shown where to sit. They were offered juice and had the breakfast choices explained, while we got neither. A couple nearby noticed and seemed embarrassed for us. Even later, when others were asked if they needed anything else, we were ignored again. I don't usually write about places I didn't enjoy, but looking back, I want to start sharing these experiences.

Fiona and the staff were so helpful. We didn't have a driver's license, so we borrowed mountain bikes, and Fiona also drove us to places the bus doesn't reach. Even though she was busy working, she still made time to have fun with the Highland coos. During a storm blackout she cooked a big pot of spaghetti bolognese and made a salad for everyone. The lodge and its surroundings are beautiful, the bed was really comfortable, and almost everything we needed was provided. Breakfast was delicious, hot or cold. We'd definitely like to return.

The staff were so friendly and welcoming, and breakfast was delicious. You have to try the honey. Holly Lodge really came through for us: the owner took our last-minute booking, stayed up very late until we arrived, and had a wonderfully comfy bed warmed with hot water bottles waiting. The next night, they even made up an emergency room for us despite technically being full. I'll always be grateful for how kind they were. We'll absolutely be back.

The guest lounge was one of my favourite spots, just right for unwinding after a day out. Breakfast was lovely too, especially the honey from their own bees and the homemade jams. Fiona is warm and welcoming, and you can tell she cares a lot about the place and making guests feel at home. I stayed two nights in July 2025 and loved Holly Lodge's character. It's quiet and peaceful, but still an easy walk to local amenities. Strathpeffer is also a great base for exploring the area, so I'd happily return.

We stayed four nights this week and would gladly come back. The rooms were clean, bright and comfortable, and breakfast had plenty of choice, including a full cooked option. Fiona and her team were delightful. The lodge sits on a hill, within walking distance of the little town centre. Highly recommend.
