The check-in took far too long, and the dim, musty lobby made a poor first impression. My room was run-down too, with stained peeling walls, dirty worn carpet and old, uncomfortable furniture. In the bathroom the showerhead was rusty, the toilet seat cracked and the sink clogged. The old, poorly maintained water heater scalded me whenever I tried to shower, so I had to be very careful not to get burned. I was also afraid to use the hairdryer because it smelled as if it might catch fire. The loose electrical outlets seemed dangerous. I complained to the front desk several times, but staff were unapologetic and did nothing to deal with it. They seemed more interested in excuses than customer service. This was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve had. The place badly needs renovation, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Save yourself the hassle and stay elsewhere.

It was a peaceful, scenic and very quiet stay, and both the food and service were great. The hotel is a little dated, but it has character; my room was adequate for what I needed. I’d recommend it and will definitely visit again at some point.

I was here with a group tour, and apparently the hotel is “owned” by a Chinese couple. They told me the dining room was closing and kicked me out, even though other people were still eating. They were impatient, rude and unprofessional. The room itself was an alright standard room, but the service was without a doubt among the worst I’ve seen. The charging sockets are a hike from the bed, and there’s no wifi.

We had a lovely stay, and the value for money was great. It’s not a five star luxury hotel, but the room was spotless and spacious, and the one staff member we met was genuinely lovely and helpful. With the bar and restaurant closed because of Covid, we had continental breakfast in our room.
