We came for a family meal at 12.30 today, Thursday 28th May, after enjoying previous visits. The posted opening time says 1200 onwards, but nobody was there. Even the delivery driver couldn’t get in. If you’re not open, say so online. You’ve probably lost our custom for good.

Sadly the service was terrible. Five of us came for a birthday meal, and although there were only two tables that evening, the food took about 1.5hrs to arrive. Staff also didn’t seem interested in serving drinks at the bar. I wouldn’t spend time coming back.

The Sunday carvery with the family was delicious. The meat was so tender it melted in your mouth, and the gravy could have been a meal by itself. Staff were very polite and the food came quickly. Great service overall. Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely visit again.

The staff are very friendly and the food is great home cooking. We enjoyed the Sunday carvery, and on an earlier visit had a mixed grill. We’ll call in again for sure, and have recommended it to friends.

We couldn’t be happier with our first visit, a one-night stay with our dogs. There’s a lovely open green space about 200 yards away for them. The room was very clean, and the small fridge was a plus. Staff gave fantastic service with a smile, both last night in the bar and at breakfast this morning. The food was excellent at both meals. I’d hold on to that chef and wouldn’t let her or him leave. I’d recommend the place.
