Stromness Apartments

The proprietors' communication saved our holiday. They emailed to tell us a ferry had been cancelled after running aground on rocks, which gave us time to arrange another crossing. We stayed four nights in July 2022 in the Lower Byer ground floor flat, just a three-minute drive from the Stromness ferry terminal. It was comfortable, with a well equipped kitchen diner and a TV bigger than ours at home. Fabulous.

I was surprised by how spacious the lower unit was, and it had everything we needed to cook some of our own meals. It felt private and came with brilliant views. I walked into town for groceries, though it's a bit of a walk. The manager was incredibly accommodating without intruding. Brogdar and Stenness are very close, and Kirkwall isn't far either. We stayed three nights in the lower unit, called Byrne? I would definitely return.

Alexander was a lovely gentleman and couldn't have helped us more. Nearaboot Apartment was cosy, very clean, and thoughtfully presented, with useful products available if needed. The details made it feel like home, and we wanted for nothing. There are amazing views from both the front and back. It's close to the ferry terminal. We'd definitely recommend it for a great stay in Stromness. Thank you 🤗

The hosts were so helpful when the weather and The Ferry became a problem. The Lower Byre is warm, welcoming, quiet, and has plenty of everything. It suited me perfectly as a solo traveller, and I'm sure a couple would enjoy it too. I'll definitely be back.
