The only small problem was the hairdryer. It kept cutting out as if the wire was damaged, so I had to hold it quite taut while helping my wife dry her hair. Other than that, we had a great stay and would happily return or recommend the hotel. The location was fab, and the staff were friendly, chatty and personable. We’re foodies and really enjoyed dinner one night and the buffet breakfast on both days. Separate tip: we used Riverside multi-storey car park across the street. It was half the price of the Premier Inn parking and only a two minute walk.

The staff were wonderful and found my forgotten Fitbit, which the cleaning lady rescued from my towels and returned. I’m very grateful! We had a lovely visit, and Sunderland was sunny and welcoming. At the hotel, we enjoyed a great view from our window, a lovely bath and a good night’s sleep. Premier Inn always seems to make a great base for a trip.

The location was lovely, but check the parking details before you arrive. I paid £19.40 overnight for a space at the back, thinking it belonged to the hotel. It turned out I needed to pay at the machine because it wasn't hotel parking. The website makes it sound like parking is available, which I found misleading.

The rooms have been clean and comfortable on both times I've stayed, and the staff are pleasant and helpful. They can be a little slow, though. Parking is scarce, and the handful of spaces they have are priced extortionately.

The location was great, and the team really impressed us during a work trip last week. They were warm and friendly, making sure my colleague and I had what we needed. Damon and Stacey especially stood out. We'll be back.
