Bell House Hotel & Restaurant

That breakfast was honestly the best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had, 12/10. We stayed one night on 07.08.24, with two people in two rooms. Everything felt spotless and comfortable, and the atmosphere and friendliness both get 10/10 from us. The rooms are lovely, with a view of a 500 year old church from the bedroom window. There’s a large free car park right by the hotel. We’d highly recommend staying here.

We were starving after a long drive back from Cornwall, with a side trip to Caerphilly, and came across this little place by chance. Lucky find, the burger was great and the staff were lovely. Service was good too. It’s tucked away, but still close enough to the M4 for people to make the effort to get there. If it were nearer home, we’d come back for Sunday lunch. We’ll definitely stop in again when we’re passing.

The packed lunch deserves a mention. Breakfast came with my direct booking, but since I don’t usually eat breakfast, they made me a lunch instead. The care showed in the details, even the freshly ground pepper in my delicious club sandwich. Chris was a friendly host, and I’d certainly stay again if I’m back in the area. I needed somewhere quiet and convenient for one night before a nearby work meeting. The old building is comfortably furnished, the mattress was very comfortable, and the bathroom, though a little dated, was very clean. Wi-Fi was weak in my room, but good enough to get online, sign in on VPN, and do some work.

Waking up to apples on the ground, then having a hot, delicious breakfast in a beautiful dining room, was a lovely start to the day. We found a room at the last minute that could fit three beds at a reasonable price. It was perfectly clean and tidy, and all the beds were really comfy. We enjoyed our stay a lot and I’d definitely come back.
