Central Hotel

We were here for two nights to visit family. It was very quiet, with plenty of parking, and the room was roomy and clean. The bed was comfortable and there was lots of tea and coffee. The owner was helpful, so we’ll come back.

I’ve stayed here several times over the past month and have recommended it to a colleague who also often needs somewhere overnight. The rooms, including the shower and toilet, are clean, and everything works. It’s handy that you’re allowed to eat in the room. Room 11’s mattress was lumpy, and I couldn’t get comfortable on it. Still, the hotel suits me fine, and I’ll keep using it. Keep up the good work.

The room was freezing, and the heating wasn’t warming it up. I asked the woman working there for an electric heater. She agreed in front of the other guests, but when she brought it to my room, she said that because the heating was working, that was all they could give me. I even asked how much it would cost to rent the heater for the night, and she said no. I felt neglected and taken advantage of. I’ve had what I describe as hyperthermia for nearly a week, and it’s been torture. I got no sleep, and £50 was the worst money I’ve ever spent. Disgusting behaviour and the worst customer service I’ve had in my life. Avoid, avoid, avoid. My room was at the front of the hotel, right beside the entrance. People were coming and going all night, and I woke at 7am when someone used the front door. It was annoying. This is one of many reasons the country is falling to its knees. Do we have to beg for heating like we’re in a third world country? Just honestly the worst place.

We booked at the last minute. The staff woman seemed okay at check-in, and the room looked clean at first, but it wasn’t. The fridge still had the previous guests’ food, the cups still had coffee in them, and there was a nasty substance on the floor. The bathroom smelled intensely of cigarette smoke. Later, when situations came up, the staff we dealt with were unprofessional and unfriendly. It was an unhygienic experience, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
