Travelodge Mansfield

We stayed for just one day, and unfortunately it wasn’t a pleasant stay. The beds weren’t made. They said I hadn’t made the right reservation, so I asked the receptionist to sort them out. He said it was no problem, but after waiting over an hour, he never came. I had to go ask for the bed and bedsheet so I could make the beds myself.

For two days, the whole place stank of weed, and people in other rooms were partying. Absolutely ridiculous. If that’s what you’re after, feel free to come here.

We stayed four nights in a family room and would definitely consider coming back. The room was clean and quiet at night, with enough space for us and our two children, though it was a little smaller than rooms in larger Travelodges. The hand-held shower over the bath was a real bonus for the kids compared with the fixed showers you often get in other hotels. We picked this Travelodge for its handy location near the Peak District. There’s a large Tesco Express and several fast-food places nearby, which made grabbing a quick breakfast easy. The car park seemed small at first, but there was actually plenty of space. We arrived late and still found a few spots, and parking was free with room for larger vehicles. The staff were friendly and helpful. They brought us a hairdryer right away when we asked, and after two nights the room was cleaned and restocked without any hassle. Everything went smoothly.

We stayed from Friday to Sunday last weekend, and someone had put a poo bag on our car. We told the night staff, who said he’d move it, but he didn’t. The booking was under my partner’s name, Robert critchley. My partner likes green top milk, but I don’t, so I had to go to the shop to get blue top milk. There was no other breakfast choice besides a box, and no Weetabix.
