Bella Vista

We didn’t stay overnight, so I can’t comment on the rooms. We had a wonderful New Year’s Eve dinner dance at the Grand Hotel. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was jolly, and the waiting staff were brilliant. They were efficient and proactive, keeping an eye out for things like topping up the water. A very good evening all round. Thanks to everyone who made it possible.

We’ve stayed here twice, both times out of season, and really enjoyed it. The location is wonderful, with views over the bay, and the staff are friendly. Breakfast was great, and our rooms were clean and pleasant, with cosy beds. There’s a small, warm pool, a gym and a jacuzzi. Parking was easy in the small hotel car park or on nearby streets out of season.

We got engaged while we were in Swanage. A family member secretly told the hotel, and the staff kindly gave us complimentary Prosecco. Thank you! The hotel has a lot of history, but its recent renovation makes it feel clean and new. The downstairs lounge, bar and breakfast room are welcoming, with lovely views over the beach. There’s also a pool, hot tub, sauna and gym downstairs, shared with members of the public. That area clearly hasn’t been renovated, but it’s still nice. Our budget double was a good size, with a lovely bathroom and walk-in shower. I’d highly recommend staying here.

It was our first time at the Grand Hotel, and we were very happy with our choice. The staff were excellent and went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. The menu is limited, but the food is really well cooked and presented. We had a mattress issue on the first night, but it was all sorted the next morning without any problems. We’ll definitely return.
