Taunton House B&B

The hosts were so helpful, and anything we needed or asked for was generally no trouble. We had a great few nights at Taunton House B&B, arriving early and being welcomed warmly. It’s very clean, with fantastic decor, and the location is close to town and the pier. There’s a boot room for bikes and wet beach towels, plus free parking behind the property. Breakfast was lovely every morning. We hope to come back to Swanage and wouldn’t look elsewhere for a place to stay. Thank you for a great stay! Matt and Claire

Michele met us outside when we arrived a little early, apparently we looked a bit lost, and gave us a warm welcome that continued throughout our two-night stay with our dog. The room and bed were very comfortable, and the boot room came in handy for drying the pooch. Michele and Bill clearly look after the house with care, and made sure we were well looked after, including hearty breakfasts both mornings. Michele’s tips made visiting town with a dog easy. Most restaurants welcomed dogs, and we had a great meal at The Salt Pig Too. We also went to the beach and walked along the ridge to Corfe castle, then took the train back. The start of the walk was quite boggy, so be aware. Our hosts made a visit to a lovely town extra special. Jo & Stuart

Bill and Michele looked after us so well and catered to our every need. The rooms are very clean and beautifully furnished, and the breakfast menu is superb. Taunton House B&B was a great base for exploring Swanage and the surrounding Purbeck Hills. Our Border Terrier Tilly enjoyed her stay just as much as we did, and we’d recommend it for an amazing holiday.

I’d highly recommend Taunton House B&B after spending three nights there for The Purbeck Nordic Walking Festival. Bill and Michelle were generous with their time and local knowledge, and went out of their way to make sure everything ran smoothly, especially with help about the chain link ferry at Sandbanks. Their friendly help was much appreciated. It’s right in the town centre, with no need for a car and plenty of walks and places of interest nearby. The characterful house is clean, with comfortable beds and quality furnishings throughout. Breakfast was plentiful and varied, with good ingredients cooked perfectly. This must be the best place to stay in Swanage.
