Ice House Apartments

Apartment 6 has a fantastic location, lovely balcony views, and a huge balcony. We really enjoyed the open-plan kitchen, dining, and living space, and would happily stay again next time we're in Swansea. Just be aware you might be asked for a £50 holding fee on arrival. Also, the oven instructions confused my partner about fan oven versus fan grill, and our evening meal ended up badly burnt, haha.

Our weekend plans in Swansea were completely spoiled, and I won't book here again. We turned up with our bags, two hours from home, only to learn the apartments were all occupied and our booking had been double-booked. We'd booked through the website on 18th November 2024 and the payment had been taken. The manager said I'd cancelled, though I hadn't, and I asked why I'd come to check in if I had. He seemed unconcerned that we had nowhere to stay and said there was nothing he could do. When I demanded my money back, he claimed a cancellation should already have been refunded and insisted it had, even after I showed him repeatedly that nothing had come into my account. I threatened to call the police because I was fed up with being blamed. He eventually offered a refund but said it would take quite a while, in a way that felt intended to put me off. I asked for cash and then we left. Be wary if you're thinking of booking here.

The marina views were lovely, and the apartment had everything we needed, from quality appliances to dishwasher and washer tablets, tea, coffee, and soap. Still, we won't be back. It felt a little dated, the sofa cushion cover was ripped, the bed was very noisy, and the place could use some paint. The main problem was the people above us. We heard shouting and stomping, and at 2am another guest from upstairs repeatedly buzzed every apartment intercom because she'd forgotten her key and wanted someone to let her in. I know that's not the management's fault, but the experience means we won't return.

The apartment was comfortable and clean, and the town centre was close, with grocery shops, restaurants, retail, museums, and other places nearby. You can walk to the beach or take a bus. I'd recommend it for a short visit or a longer stay in Swansea.
