Charles Hope Apartments Swindon

The apartment was really big and lovely. The area itself isn't very pretty, but it's about a 10-minute walk into the centre. There's parking nearby for around £10 for 24 hours.

The location is great, right in the town centre, though work going on nearby meant there was sometimes noise from what I assume were generators overnight. The apartment itself was very nice. Our toaster didn't work, and after we reported it, we were told someone would come that day, but nobody did. With it being so close to Christmas, I wasn't too surprised. More recently, the heaters stopped working a couple of times. Maintenance couldn't figure out why and replaced them, but they failed again after about half a week. That's not ideal when you have a one-year-old.

You couldn't pick a worse place to stay in Swindon. It's right in the packed town centre, with no parking or loading at any time unless you pay £15 a day to use the car park round the back. The shower barely has any water pressure, and the beds are tiny, not big enough for anyone over 5ft 2. It's incredibly noisy at night too, with the car park next door turning into what feels like a drunken homeless rave in the middle of the night.

The place is beside a multi-storey car park, and its fans run loudly all night. It's too noisy to open the windows for fresh air. Inside, the cleaning was poor: dried blood on the master bedroom bedding, lots of dead insects in the windows, and marks and stains on most of the walls. Very disappointing.
