The location made things easy, with the station just a 2-minute walk away, the main shopping street about 5 minutes away, and the long-stay car park opposite. We paid around £35. The room seemed clean, though there was a slightly musty smell, so I kept the window open. I couldn't tell whether it was the room or my mate. Traffic racing past in the early hours was aggravating, and there didn't seem to be any speed enforcement. The TV was a decent size with a good choice of channels, and tea and coffee were provided. There were kitchen facilities, but they were poorly equipped: one or two pans were dirty, and one had dirty water in it after being used to catch a leak under the sink. The bathroom mirrors were oddly placed and so small that unless you're giant-sized, you'll struggle to see yourself. There was also an incident outside at 1am involving a strange man taking a young baby away. Management should be more careful and attentive about the people they let stay.

The shower was amazing, the bathroom was lovely, and they had my favourite biscuits with the tea and coffee. The price is fantastic for somewhere this close to the town centre and station, especially if the trains aren't being replaced by buses continuously. I liked the idea of having a kitchen, but there was no cutlery and the equipment was shocking: pasta stuck to the wall and what looked like rotting chicken above the cupboard. Traffic noise was incredibly loud. Since leaving, I've found what look like bites on me, which is worrying. The worst part was hearing prostitutes arguing with their pimps outside. My roommate had gone missing by then, which made me think about it. All in all, I'd still say go ahead...

The room had two single beds, a desk with a tea tray and kettle, and a postage-stamp-sized TV that didn't work. The manager couldn't take a card payment and was a moron about it. Several rooms seemed to house local council homeless people, alcoholics and drug users long-term. This place is a pit. In all that is holy to you, don't stay here. I'd give it zero stars, but I have to submit one to post this, and somehow it comes out as 3.2.

I didn't see it myself, but our granddaughter stayed here and had a disgusting experience. Her room was meant to be ready at 2pm, yet when she arrived at 7pm there were stains all over the sheets and the bathroom was filthy.

Apart from the other noisy people who don't care about anyone else, it's a really nice place to get a room!!! X
