The Broomsquire

I keep coming back because this hotel works well for my job, and it's the one I pick whenever there's a room available, even though I've tried quite a few places nearby. The owners and staff are all friendly and helpful. The food is very good too, and I've brought colleagues back for meals. Out back, there's a beautiful garden where you can enjoy a drink or something to eat. Rooms are comfortable, nicely decorated and furnished, and kept to a very high standard of cleanliness. Plenty of guests return regularly, which says a lot about the place. Prices depend on the room standard, but don't let that put you off, every room is high standard.

I live locally, so I haven't stayed in the rooms, but I've had several Sunday roasts and they've been excellent every time. They're homemade and, I think, the best value at that price in the area. Add excellent real ales and local draught cider made just ten miles away, and I can't see why the place isn't busier. The Broomsquire gets a lot right, so I thought it deserved a good review.

My company booked the room for me. After a 200 mile drive, I arrived at 7:45pm on Sunday evening to find the place locked, the lights out, and nobody around. I'd called earlier to say I'd be arriving late, but no one answered. Luckily, I found a hotel a few miles away. Don't waste your time or money here!

A lovely place to rest after a long day. There's plenty nearby if you enjoy walks in nature.
