Breakfast in the room was a lovely touch, especially with the harbour view. The host was nice, and the guesthouse felt cosy and well cared for. Details like the tartan stair runner, bed setup and artwork made it a delightful stay.

The room was clean, comfortable and quiet, and booking was easy with good communication from the host. We would've liked a healthier breakfast option, like fruit or yoghurt, though I realise it's hard to offer everything.

Breakfast is brought to your room between 7:30 and 8:30, at the time you choose. You place the order the night before using a form left on the table outside your room. There's ample parking along the harbour front, too. The guest house was high quality and made for a very pleasant stay. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the room looked out over the harbour. I'd definitely stay again if I were passing through Tarbert for an early ferry.

We stayed in the Chieftain suite at Knap Guest House and had everything we could ask for: a stylish living area with a smart TV, fluffy towels, a great shower and a comfy bed. We watched the Lions' test match using our own Now TV subscription, and the harbour views were absolutely stunning. Breakfast was served in the room, and it was tasty and plentiful. The bacon bap was awesome.

Knap guest house is an amazing place to stay when visiting town. Alan is a great guy and made us feel welcome. Breakfast is simple and served exactly when you want it, and the rooms are clean and tidy. The mattress was the real star, firm and perfect, unbelievable. Honestly, one of the best I've tried.
