The Red Lion

The owners were so kind and friendly, and breakfast was a treat, especially the best hash browns ever. We loved the Red Lion's character and cosy feel. Our room had a large en-suite bathroom with a big bath. I'd recommend staying here, particularly if you're travelling by car, as there's a car park.

I had a late night at a wedding beforehand, so the peaceful setting was just what I needed. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the place has a beautiful look with a slightly vintage feel. Staff were welcoming from the moment I arrived, and even offered me a lift to the station after my visit. Breakfast had a spot-on choice and was freshly cooked. It was such a lovely stay. I'd definitely come back and highly recommend it. My only regret is that I couldn't stay longer.

After work on Friday we stopped in for food and tried the Munchie Box. It was fresh, piping hot and great value, with a generous amount to share and a choice of dips. It came together in a pizza box, which was handy to enjoy with our drinks. Ours had chicken wings, onion rings, chips and chicken bites, and we also ordered garlic mushrooms. Everything was amazing. We'll definitely be back soon.

We shared a snack box and there was easily enough for two. Everything was piping hot and fresh, and the price was very reasonable. Fab pub, excellent food. Highly recommend!
