The owners were so friendly and had thought of all the little things, including a cream tea welcome pack and a biscuit for the dog. This is a lovely little park if peace and quiet is what you’re after. You do need a car to get out and see places, but that’s no big deal. Being right on the edge of Dartmoor makes it hard to decide where to go first.

It’s a decent base for Tavistock and Dartmoor, but the oven didn’t work during our whole stay. We’d brought food to cook, and a lot of it went to waste after we had to change all our meal plans. I do wonder if the problem could have been handled better.

A really peaceful, comfortable place. You’ll need a car to get around to the many lovely places nearby. If I’m being very picky, a gate would be nice to stop your dog wandering, since the place is dog friendly. It wasn’t really an issue for us, though.

The lodge is lovely and felt like a home away from home. Even with the second national lockdown, it made our holiday extra special. Thanks, Carol! One thing, the oven wasn’t quite up to scratch and the thermostat needs checking.

The setting is delightful and the lodge is finished to a high standard. The beds were superb, and it’s a comfortable holiday home with everything well equipped. A shame the wood burner is just for show.
