We’re cycling through the south of England and this was a lovely stop to rest and reset. The people were nice, and it has the best carpets in town.

Val was brilliant, helping us out and being flexible while we were there with a group of scouts on a kayak trip. The bunkhouse was really comfortable and just right for what we needed. Great food, and a friendly pub too. We’d definitely stay again!

The bunkhouse was exactly what it says it is, clean, with good showers, and just right for a weekend with eight mountain biking mates. Val and the staff were so helpful. Breakfasts were a bargain, and the beer in the pub was great. It’s central, with some excellent biking trails not too far away by bike. Even the sun stayed out. Perfect weekend! 😎😎😎

After a long hike, we stopped in for a pint expecting the sort of ordinary, safe pub food that’s fine but not exciting. The menu had a lot more choice than I expected, and the homemade venison pie was delicious, with a really generous serving of vegetables and chips. Prices were very good for the portion size and quality. Our whole group was impressed. I’d go again if I’m in the area.

The landlady and staff were so friendly, and the service and food were excellent, with plenty of menu choices. They’re very dog friendly and nothing seems like a bother. There was good banter from the locals playing pool too. A lovely little find, I’ll definitely return.
