The cross Keys Inn

We spent the night here in our motorhome and felt very welcome. There’s EHU available if you need it, though we didn’t use it since this was the last night of our short break. The food was tasty, and the open fire made the place lovely and warm. Highly recommend.

On our second visit, just before Christmas, we found it just as good as the first time. The decorations and lights looked beautiful in the dining room, and the music was quiet with a great choice of songs for a relaxed evening. It’s a warm, welcoming pub. When we first stayed, Rob, the landlord, welcomed us and showed me where he wanted our motorhome parked. The pub is nicely laid out, with fairy lights around the dining room windows, and the music stays at a relaxing volume. There’s a good range on the menu, including a few vegetarian dishes I fancied. We’d arranged to stay overnight in the rear car park. If you’re driving in from the road, take the left side of the building. I tried the right, and it was a tight squeeze for our motorhome, while the left gives you a straight, proper route to the back.

I stayed here last night on a quick trip into England. It’s a handy, relaxed place to rest just off the motorway. The welcome was easy, the room was good, and the service was great. The steak and chips was one of the best I’ve had in a while, other than my own, and the local beer and music were great too. I’d recommend it for a stopover.

Handy spot for our drive back south, with a lovely warm room. There was a little mould in the shower, probably because it hadn’t been used much over winter. Breakfast was nice and filling, and the staff and owners were really helpful and friendly.
