Best Western Valley Hotel

Staff were kind, attentive and happy to help when I bought afternoon tea here for my mom at Christmas. The hotel itself is lovely, with pretty gardens and a direct entrance to the park, from where you can walk down to the river, though the steps are quite deep. The tea came with four sandwiches, three cakes and a scone. It was lovely that the scone was warm. The sandwiches were fairly standard, cheese, ham, tuna and egg mayo, which suited us as we like simple sandwiches, but I thought it was worth mentioning. Would recommend.

The meal was hot, cooked just right and served really well, and the whole wedding day was beautifully planned so everything flowed. Holly looked after us at dinner, Rowen brought round hot pork rolls, and Lee seemed to be organising the day and did a great job. A wonderful day from beginning to end, thanks for having us.

The receptionist and the woman behind the bar were friendly and helpful. We paid £10 to park our motorhome and got £10 off food, then ordered two BLTs with chips and coffee. The coffee had no taste, and the food took nearly half an hour. My BLT was burnt black in the middle, so I left most of the toast. The chips were poor and barely warm. Wouldn't recommend.

Everyone on staff was really polite and friendly, and the place was spotless. We appreciated having adjoining rooms. There wasn't much of a view from the window, but that was fine for our two-night stay. We'll definitely recommend it and come back.
