Premier Inn Telford Central

We left with our three small children still hungry, after being unable to get the breakfast we'd paid for. The manager laughed about it as she walked away, then told us to leave when we challenged her. We got no help from the Premier Inn staff, and the Beefeater team next door were rude and unhelpful too. We'd booked the room and family breakfast months ahead. On arrival, we were told to reserve a breakfast time, so we did. But the next morning Beefeater said there was no booking for us. This was an appalling visit with my family and the worst service I've had from a hotel. If breakfast can't be provided, don't offer it at booking. Disgraceful.

The staff were courteous, the rooms well kept and there was plenty of parking. Refreshments are pretty limited compared with years ago, just basic tea and coffee. I also don't like the sealed windows. Apparently it helps climate control, but it means running the air-conditioning all night, and its constant whirring makes sleep fitful. I prefer to sleep with a window slightly open, which feels healthier and more natural when possible, and uses no energy at all.

The staff were lovely, friendly and accommodating, and Reception apologised when I mentioned the noise. But I wouldn't stay again. The room had no chair, the thermostat was faulty and there were hairs in the bedding, so the sheets didn't seem clean. I know it's a budget hotel and mainly somewhere to sleep, but too many things were lacking. I was on the first floor and heard banging, stomping, and doors creaking and slamming at all hours. It just wasn't great.

The room wasn't well maintained, and I ended up sleeping in my clothes. One pillowcase hadn't been changed, the bathroom grout had gone grey, and the double bed was two singles pushed together. It made for a very uncomfortable night's sleep.
