The Albany

We’ve just come back from a five-day break with National at the Albany in Tenby. The staff looked after us brilliantly, and the hotel had a warm, homely feel. They couldn’t do enough for us, and nothing seemed too much trouble. The food was the best we’ve had at any hotel we’ve stayed in with National. We usually go out for evening meals, but this time we ate at the hotel every night. The building has lots of character, though of course it isn’t Ritz standard. We don’t spend all day in our rooms when we travel, and ours were clean and warm. We had a great week.

We were there during a very hot spell, and they brought a fan to our room for free when we asked. Breakfast arrived in the room at the time we requested, and it was good quality. There were tea and coffee making facilities too. The bar and restaurant were closed under Covid19 restrictions, but guests could use the side terrace garden to eat or drink their own things. The staff were friendly and helpful, and toiletries and lovely towels were provided. The place was nice and clean, with reasonably priced parking nearby. It’s also very well located for Tenby North Beach and town. Good value accommodation.

I’ve stayed here several times and wouldn’t choose anywhere else when I’m in Tenby. It’s a lovely privately run hotel, looked after by a husband and wife. The owners are really friendly, and the price is very reasonable. It is a 2-star place, but it’s clean and the full English breakfast is lovely. You can have more, within reason. Their Food Hygiene Rating is 5, which is top marks. I’m already looking forward to coming back.

The time flew by, and we’d visit again. The beds were clean and comfy, the food was very good, and we especially liked the breakfast and coffee. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. We had fun with the entertainment, especially Richard and his accompaniment, and Janet ringing her bell and lending me her specs so I could sing Kareoke.
