The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was roomy with a great big shower. The rooms are nice too, with large TVs and good controls for both the air conditioning and heating. There's a great Indian restaurant next door, run by the same staff, and it's well worth a visit. Getting into Tenterden on foot isn't very practical from the hotel. If you want to go into town, it's better to drive and park.

The room was tiny. We were in room 2, opposite the restaurant, with a small double bed that felt solid, a very hard pillow, and even a softer floor. Plates and cutlery clattered from the restaurant, and once it closed I was hoping to get some sleep. The traffic outside was loud too, and the window wouldn't shut properly, so every car, bike and truck came through. We arrived after booking online because it looked like a nice place. I rang the bell and someone came to check us in a few minutes later. I'd expected a relaxing evening, but barely slept and woke up aching from the hard bed. Definitely don't recommend.

We booked a double deluxe room for two nights, but the room was dark and small, with a tiny bed. The toilet was so close to the wall I had to sit sideways to use it. There was also a clothes press in reception, which was bizarre. The food was terrible, if you can call it food. The extra-cost "full english" breakfast had no bacon, a skinny chicken sausage and something egg-like, all swimming in grease. The restaurant only serves Indian food, so if that's not for you, you're out of luck. I could only manage one night of the two.

The restaurant was brilliant, and the food was really tasty. The room was very comfortable, and the staff couldn't do enough for us. We picked this hotel because I had a 7am operation at nearby Benenden Hospital, and didn't fancy the two-hour drive from Essex beforehand. We'll definitely come back.

Dinner next door was great, with good service and food at a good cost. In the room, everything was clean and modern, with excellent heating and air-con. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the bed had exactly the firm but supportive feel I like. I really enjoyed staying here and will 100% be back.
