We went to the Dog and Crook Pub for a friend's 40th birthday and had a fantastic time. The warm, relaxed atmosphere and very welcoming, helpful staff made the evening even better. I was pleasantly surprised by the Indian dishes alongside the usual pub food. Everything was delicious, and the hospitality was top-notch. A lovely spot for a celebration or a meal out. Highly recommended.

The indoor hall was bright and well set up, while the outdoor hall and seating area felt calm and relaxing, with a lovely open view. The surroundings were peaceful, parking was easy with plenty of space, and the atmosphere worked really well for a gathering. We recently visited the Dog and Crook pub in Romsey, where the food was well cooked, full of flavour, and enjoyed by everyone. The team were friendly and especially helpful in organising our event, making the day easy and enjoyable. A lovely place for celebrations, good food, and time with family and friends.

We had a great overnight stay at Dog & Crook, just a 10-minute walk or two-minute drive from Romsey's mesmerising "Light Up Trail." Our room was comfy and super clean, and there was parking onsite. The place brings together a traditional local pub and a great Indian restaurant. The food was delicious, the best Indian meal we've had in a long, long time. The owner/host took his time showing us the great white wine selection so we could choose a perfect drink for the evening. Much appreciated, thank you! Big thanks too to the lovely gentleman who made our breakfast at 8:30am. A great experience.

We had the Indian dishes, and they were yummy, a good size, and tasted freshly made. The menu also has the usual good pub food, so there's plenty of choice. The dining area is separate from the pub, and dinner and the rooms were very reasonably priced. Our room was in a newer building, separate from the pub. It was clean, spacious, and neutrally decorated, with a very comfortable bed. The only snag was that the kettle wouldn't fit under the ensuite tap, though they provide decent-sized glasses to fill it with. We were shown to our rooms promptly. The staff were welcoming, and at least some live onsite. The decor is a little worn, but it feels like a long-established local pub. Inside are black and white photos of the local hunt starting there. There's plenty of parking, and the entrance is wide off the road. The pub is set well back but still visible. It's handy for Hilliers Garden, and when we arrived in the dark we couldn't tell, but in the morning it was clear there are fields on at least two sides. A full breakfast is available. If you'd prefer something smaller, like eggs on toast, it's worth discussing the price. Arrange your breakfast time the night before. If I stay in the area again, I'll try here first.

The food was amazing, and the service was great. They were attentive and gave us really helpful advice on the dishes. We had the loveliest meal. I almost don't want to say how good it was in case it gets too popular and we can't get a table. We'll definitely be back!
