The Cromwell Arms

We had four different dishes and all were good, though it’s a little pricier than other pubs nearby. The food was worth it, and I was impressed by the vegetarian and vegan choices, which felt properly thought through rather than tacked on. My risotto was delicious. Staff were lovely and accommodating, and the service was good. One wineglass had a lipstick mark, but everything else was clean, and I’d guess that isn’t a regular thing. We went for a family dinner on Saturday night and ended up walking in after our other plans fell through. The pub welcomes dogs, including at some restaurant tables, and there’s plenty of parking. We’d definitely come back.

The staff were the best part, so welcoming and helpful. We had a great short break at The Cromwell Arms with our dog, and could take the dog walking in the countryside from just near the pub. The evening meal was really good, and we even considered having three courses, which hardly ever happens for us. Breakfast had plenty of choice, including a full English, plant-based breakfast, eggs Florentine and omelette. Our room was cosy and beautifully decorated, with lovely details like good coffee, fluffy towels, a hot shower and slippers.

We had a great lunch here with family today. The food was superb, with a good range of dishes and a lovely atmosphere. The professional, efficient service topped it off. We’ll definitely be back.

Marie looked after us really well this time, always with a smile. My brother and I meet here regularly for a beer and a catch-up. He drives over from Ringwood and I come from Hayling Island, so the location suits us perfectly. See you in a month or so!
