The White Horse

We had a large family and friends meal at the white horse and were greeted warmly. The atmosphere was lovely, and all the food arrived together so nobody was left waiting. Staff were friendly and attentive. We also joined one of their bingo nights, where food was included in the ticket. The nachos were delicious, and it made for a really fun evening. Plenty of choice for everyone. I love a pub where you feel welcome.

The chef has transformed the menu, and the Sunday lunch we had at the White Horse, Thruxton on 01/02/26 was truly delicious. The three meat options on the Sunday roast are worth trying. Big shout out to the new owners, Nikki and the team, who were fabulous. Go treat yourself, you won't be disappointed. Five stars!

Mustang was the room I stayed in, and it was spacious, quiet, and had a super comfortable bed. The full English breakfast was enormous and 10 out of 10, with excellent sausages, bacon, eggs, mushrooms, hash browns, toast, black pudding, baked beans, and grilled tomato. I couldn't finish it. This is one of the best country pubs I've visited, with fresh, delicious food, a relaxed but lively feel, and a wonderful landlady who made everyone feel at home. The locals were friendly and welcoming. I loved the warm, stylish decor and thoughtful touches, especially sitting by the fire with Merlot on their cosy sofa. The sausage rolls were mindblowing, and the Espresso Martini was perfect. It's a cosy base for a couple of nights in the countryside, well placed for exploring. I've already booked again because I want to try the Sunday Roast. A real delight.

The pub felt welcoming and friendly, with a good choice of ales. We had Sunday lunch, and the roast was wonderful, with tender meat, all the trimmings, and plenty of gravy.
