The Old Red Lion

We stumbled across this cafe while looking for the antiques centre, and I’m blooming glad we did. The coffee was great, we got a warm welcome, and had an interesting chat with the owner. It’s a fantastic little all-in-one place: shop, cafe, bar, restaurant and function room at the back. Great hospitality, a lovely lady in charge, dog-friendly and cheap. If you’re on holiday or having a day out nearby, make a detour and support them in these difficult times.

The food was incredible, freshly cooked to order, tasty and generous, and nothing was too much trouble. We booked a table for five on Saturday night while in the village to meet friends. There was no rush to clear our table, so we could enjoy dinner without pressure to finish quickly. We’d phoned first to check availability and parked our motorhome in the car park. We also picked up a few bits and bobs at the village shop. I’d highly recommend the pub for the good food, excellent service and value. We’ll be back. Thanks for letting us park.

A really lovely village pub overlooking the green. The afternoon tea was delicious and great value. We were pleasantly surprised and had a great time. There was very fresh bread with a variety of fillings, hot quiche and sausage rolls, then lovely cakes, warm scones and jam. They even brought out homemade trifle. The service was excellent too, and we’ll definitely return.

We had a great afternoon tea and an amazing time. The lady had catered beautifully for our unusual dietary requirements, with sandwiches, homemade scones and other things on the table. I’d highly recommend the old red lion Tetsworth.
