Regency Park Hotel

The pool and gym were great, and the room was huge, clean and modern. It was also very cheap for one night. I've been travelling around South England, and this has been the best hotel I've stayed in by far. I don't usually eat at hotels, but I was tired from travelling and gave the food a try. It really surprised me, it was so good that I even had a treat to finish, despite being strict with my diet and only cheating when the food is worth it. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will be back soon. 10/10, highly recommend.

I left after the first night, really disappointed I'd booked this place. It wasn't worth the money, and there are plenty of other hotels and B&Bs nearby with much better rooms for the same or less. It was the hottest day in May, but they put me in a room without air conditioning even though air conditioned rooms were vacant. There was no water provided, the shower only dribbled, and the bedroom windows were broken. When I asked to move rooms, they wanted an extra £40 per night. The jacuzzi and lift still weren't working, even though reviews from two months earlier said the same. I would not book here. There's no way this is a 4 star hotel.

The food was very good, but we had a lot of other issues. We waited half an hour for our food on both days we ate there, and the lift was broken. There were signs inside for the spa, but when we reached the door it was locked and marked staff only. As we were leaving, one waiter rubbed his hand up and down my back, which felt very inappropriate. Housekeeping also came into our room without knocking while we were asleep.

I had one of the worst hotel nights I can remember. The temporary heater in the room was noisy and smelled nasty, and I woke up with a headache. The toilet was dirty and the seat didn't fit properly. The lift has apparently been out for a year. The first floor stank of weed, like a grow operation. The hot tub was empty and the sauna door wouldn't close. There were very few staff, and they didn't seem happy in their jobs. We complained in the morning, but management wouldn't refund us, saying it was acceptable because we hadn't complained in the middle of the night. The owners prefer accommodating asylum seekers because they see it as easier money, with no complaints and no care. Stay clear. No duty of care.
